It’s a rainy spring day in our neck of the woods today, so we’re warming up by baking this Classic Banana Bread Recipe by FoodieCrush. When life gives you brown bananas, make banana bread.

This recipe is so easy and requires just a handful of ingredients that you likely have in your pantry and fridge. We didn’t have buttermilk or plain yogurt, so we used sour cream instead. And we only had three bananas instead of four, so we subbed the sliced banana topping for a sprinkle of brown sugar which gave the banana bread a subtle crumble-like topping. We also omitted nuts because we like to toast our banana bread and top with peanut butter for breakfast.

Bake this banana bread for a rainy afternoon treat or weekend brunch. Serve warm or lightly toasted with a thick pat of butter (or peanut butter) and a cup of tea or coffee. Find the recipe here!
